This shoot seemed divinely timed…after exactly one hour of capturing the brother & sister pair as they each expressed their own (very unique) personalities, it started to rain just as we wrapped. I was inspired listening to the violin singing through the forest while I photographed, and heard the sounds of a football being tossed between father & son behind me. What a beautiful day.

a sweet play date on alki beach with the beautiful miss emme and her red balloon…

Had a blast again with the awesome brothers Max & Brooks.  After sneaking up on poor little Brooks in his nursery (he thought we were pretty funny) we headed out to the backyard to capture the action as they played in the Sunday sunshine. I’ve been photographing this sweet family since Max was about a week old, and this time their cousin Cash was around to join in the play. I love being asked back to document their growth. Happy Summer, everyone!

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of setting up my lights in the living room of Olivia & Audrey, and capturing their classic beauty.  Oh, and Bella (the dog) too. She just laid down in the frame, there was no moving her. Sweetness.

Our intention was to shoot “Vintage Seattle Spring” down at Pike’s Market but (this being Seattle)  it was raining, and the market is under construction.  Plan B, we met at their manor!

After our indoor shoot, we ran outside in rain boots and umbrellas to capture just a few more moments of their adorable sisterhood.

My absolute favorite holiday of the year – the big one, where we celebrate LOVE – is just one month away.  Valentine’s Day!  How much fun would it be to have your own L-O-V-E themed photo shoot, and give the pictures as gifts?  Ring me up, and let’s do it!

“…come on, it’s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with you!”

While we did get snow in Seattle last week, this sweet photo shoot – complete with vintage sled – actually took place in the bright, warm sunshine of late October.

Happy Holidays!

More from my September East Coast Tour – this is another daughter of another dear, dear old friend.  I remember photographing her when she was just a few hours old, and smaller than a football.  What a beauty, huh?

Meet Cole, Sadie & Jake.  I love these kids, and have been photographing them since they were babies.  I’m thrilled they were part of my East Coast Tour last month.

Life ain’t always a bed of roses.  While this trio has experienced some rough changes in the last year, their spirits are as delightful, playful, creative and beautiful as ever.  Our photo shoot was a fantastic expression of the present moment.  Each came up with a word to describe themselves right now, and chalked it on the brick wall.

Jake, the firstborn, chose “REBEL” and while he might not know who James Dean is, he channeled the ‘rebel without a cause’ perfectly.

Sadie, the only girl and middle child, chose “LOVE” and I think her snoopy tee-shirt and deep chocolate brown eyes explain why, better than I could.

Cole, the youngest, chose “TROUBLE” …though you wouldn’t know it from the way he curled up sweetly with me later while we read a book together, sounding out the big words slowly.

In September, I met one of my favorite families for our annual photography session.  I have been taking pictures of these two beautiful kids for five years now – they were some of my very first clients and subjects when I moved here to Seattle.  Oh, how they’ve grown – I love seeing the changes (and constants) year after year.

That’s what this little boy is made of.  We met at the baseball diamond in mid-September, and he brought his favorite baseball…and proceeded to show me time and time again how hard he could throw it against the backstop.  “Bam!  Bam!  Bam!”  Yep – definitely a boy.  Possibly a future major league hardball pitcher, too.

It is nice to be home in my little house by the beach.  East Coast Tour is done, and I’m catching up now on photo editing back home in Seattle.  Candles, Sauvignon Blanc, and the soft glow of my dear sweet iMac…still editing…
